RAM 1500 Diesel Model has Awesome Fuel Efficiency

Something we here at our Wider, GA dealership have started to notice is manufacturers focusing on making pickup trucks more fuel efficient. It makes sense. You want a vehicle to handle heavy cargo loads, towing capabilities, and let's be honest, to give you a sense of strength. But those qualities shouldn't cost you more at the fuel pump.

That's why we're pretty excited to learn about a diesel version of the RAM 1500. Early reports indicate the 1500 EcoDiesel gets 28 highway miles per gallon, the best figure among the light truck segment in the US.

Based on the Environmental Protection Agency's ratings, the diesel RAM truck also performs admirably in the city, when it comes to gas mileage. With no way of knowing what gas prices will look like in the near and far future, we're sure the RAM company wants to make sure you can drive the vehicle that's able to get the job done without breaking your bank on gas.

The 1500 EcoDiesel has a 3.0-liter, VT engine under the hood, giving the fuel-efficient truck 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. That's pretty impressive performance and towing capability for a vehicle with that great fuel efficiency.

We here at Akins Dodge Chrysler Jeep are happy to carry the RAM 1500, and we will certainly let you know what the status of the new diesel-powered pickup is. In the meantime, come by our dealership and ask to take one of our new models for a test drive.
